Rural Development and Community Welfare in Biocultural Diversity of Solomon Islands

Outline

The Solomon Islands, a nation in the South Pacific known for its rich biological and cultural diversity, is now undergoing rapid development. While such development is expected to improve people’s living standards, it is also leading to the depletion of natural resources, the degradation of biodiversity, and the loss of traditional cultures. In this workshop, we invite a researcher and an expert from international organizations to reflect on development and everyday life in the Solomon Islands.
